In this regard, according to the survey of TrendForce Jibang Consulting, a market research organization, most semiconductor factories have earthquakes of magnitude 3-4, so they will basically stop for inspection and then resume work. So far, no semiconductor factory has been seriously impacted by the earthquake, and it has resumed normal operation one after another.
In addition, TSMC and UMC also made relevant responses.
TSMC, the leading foundry manufacturer, said that after the earthquake, the company had evacuated some dust-free rooms personnel in the southern factory (Tainan Science Park) as soon as possible in accordance with internal procedures to ensure safety, and the industrial safety system was normal.
Another wafer foundry, UMC, also pointed out that due to the earthquake, a few machines in Hsinchu factory started the self-protection mechanism, which has been restarted, and all the personnel are safe. The internal operation is in accordance with the standard procedures, and the others have no significant impact.
At the same time, according to the Administration of Science and Technology of China, after investigation, the earthquake in the park was about magnitude 3, including TSMC, AUO, Micron, SPIL, Corning and other big factories, all of which reported their safety one after another, and there was no disaster.
