It is reported that Intel will invest 20 billion US dollars to bulid a large-scale chip factory in Ohio, USA. It is expected to be mass-produced in 2025. Intel hopes that through the 1.8nm process technology launched at that time, the company can return to the status of the chip king.
Intel said the plant, which requires more than 7000 workers, is expected to accommodate two separate factories and will employ 3000 workers once completed. Intel's chip manufacturing base can accommodate up to eight plants and supporting ecological support systems, covering an area of nearly 1000 acres.
Intel didn't explain the manufacturing technology of chips in this factory.However, according to Intel's previously announced plan, they will mass-produce 20A and 18A process technologies in 2024. It is believed that when the factory is completed in 2025, it will be mass-produced with the highest 1.8nm process.In addition to the $20 billion investment in Ohio, Intel plans to expand by $20 billion in Arizona.
